Launching a test execution with Lynqa
Launching a Test Execution with Lynqa allows you to execute your test cases and monitor their progress in real time.
Launching a test execution
Launch test executions with Lynqa from your Xray “Test execution” tickets.
Open the test execution ticket
Navigate to your test execution ticket and open it. In the right sidebar, you will find the Lynqa section with an “Execute with Lynqa” button. Click this button to start the execution process.
What is currently supported by Lynqa:
Test calls within an Xray test
Attachments associated with a test execution, a test, or an Xray step
Data from the Data column of an Xray test
Enter the information about the new execution session
In the “New execution” modal, enter a name for your test execution session (default: “My test run session”) and optionally specify the URL of the site you want to test in the “URL of the site to test” field, this URL can also be mentioned in the first test step. The system will show you how many tests are ready to be executed.
You can, if you wish, add “sensitive data” for the execution (using the “Add data” button). This includes data like emails, passwords, etc., for which you do not want their values to appear in clear text in your tests but are necessary for the execution.
Choose clear names for your sensitive data: avoid "data1", "data2", etc., otherwise the agent will not be able to know in which context to use your sensitive data.
Warning: enter sensitive data only in text fields (password type) whose value remains invisible to avoid their display in screenshots. Other types of fields are not currently supported.
You can also select the tests you want to run.
This symbol indicates that the Xray test run is not synchronized with its test. Lynqa always uses the test run to launch its executions. Please update the test run if you want Lynqa to run the latest version of the test.
Start the execution
Once you have entered the required information, click the “Run the tests” button to start the execution. The tests will begin running and you can monitor their progress via the Lynqa interface.
Want to track the execution? See how to manage your run sessions.
